Summit League Announces 2017-18 Championships Schedule

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League announced the dates, sites for 2017-18 championships season today.

Headlining the schedule is The Summit League Basketball Championships, which will be hosted by the Sioux Falls Sports Authority. The championships return to Sioux Falls, S.D., for the 10th consecutive season and fourth at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

South Dakota kicks off the championships slate by hosting cross country for the first time on Oct. 28. Women's soccer returns to Fargo for the second consecutive year, Nov. 2 and 4, while Omaha hosts its initial men's soccer championship, Nov. 9 and 11. Denver will host the volleyball championship a week later (Nov. 17-19) for the third straight year to round out the fall championships slate.

The swimming and diving championships move into the new Midco® Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls, while North Dakota State hosts indoor track & field, its second of a league-high three championships, Feb. 23-24.

In April, Nebraska City, Neb., (women) and Newton, Kan., (men) will host the golf championships for the third straight year, while Denver hosts the tennis championships for the first time since 2014.

The softball championship returns to Fargo for the fifth consecutive season, May 9-12. Oral Roberts hosts the final two championships of the 2017-18 season, outdoor track & field at its newly-constructed facility, and baseball for the third consecutive year.
