Centenary Wins Sportsmanship Award

ELMHURST, Ill. - Centenary College has been honored by its fellow institutions with the 2007-08 Summit League Sportsmanship Award. It is the second year in a row the school has been given the prestigious award.

The Sportsmanship Award is given annually to the league institution that is judged by its peers to be the best in the league in living up to the ideals of sportsmanship. Areas for evaluation include student-athlete conduct, staff/administrator conduct, coaches' conduct and event management.

Past winners of The Summit League Sportsmanship Award include Centenary (2006-07), UMKC (1998-99), IUPUI (2000-01), Southern Utah (1999-00, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06) and Valparaiso (2001-02).
