LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT BEGINS TONIGHT
The 2009 Summit League Volleyball Tournament action begins tonight at 5:30 p.m. (CT) as No. 2 IUPUI squares off against No. 3 IPFW followed by No. 1 North Dakota State, the defending champion, facing No. 4 UMKC. JONAH LAGAT TO COMPETE IN NCAA CROSS COUNTRY
For the second straight year, Oral Roberts junior Jonah Lagat was selected to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday. Lagat finished the NCAA Cross Country Midwest Regional in a time of 30:58.5 (10k) last week to solidify his selection. The Cross Country Championships will air on the Versus Network and will be streamed online at ncaa.com beginning at noon (EST). For all the latest results, click here.
Oral Roberts junior guard Roderick Pearson nailed the winning shot at the buzzer propelling the Golden Eagles to an 83-81 victory over Pac-10 foe Stanford on Thursday night. This marks the sixth straight year that ORU has had a win over power conference and the second time in recent years the Golden Eagles have won against a Pac-10 team. North Dakota State senior libero Kelly Lopez was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday. Despite several major injuries during her career, she continues to play through the pain as her No.1 seeded Bison look to repeat as Summit League Tournament Champions.
