ELMHURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts outfielder Derrian James and Western Illinois second baseman Colton Pogue were named The Summit League Baseball Players of the Week while Fort Wayne starting pitcher Ryan Wells was selected as the league's Pitcher of the Week for their performances March 30 – April 5.

James collects his first career Player of the Week award after leading Oral Roberts to a series win at South Dakota State and a victory over No. 11 Oklahoma State. The senior outfielder was 3-for-5 in the series finale in Brookings with a home run, four RBI and two runs. He added another homer in game two of the series on Saturday with two walks and three runs scored. For the week, James batted .429 (6-for-14) with seven runs scored, five RBI, two home runs, two walks and a stolen base. He did not strike out in 17 plate appearances and had a .857 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage.

Pogue earns his first career honor after guiding Western Illinois to a 2-2 record last week, including a win over No. 24 Iowa. In the game against the Hawkeyes, the freshman second baseman was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a grand slam. His grand slam in the eighth inning ended the game as it put the Leathernecks up by 11 runs (16-5). His second home run of the week came in Saturday's win at Omaha. He also recorded a double in games one and three against the Mavericks. For the week, Pogue had an .895 slugging percentage with a .368 (7-for-19) batting average. He drove-in seven runs with five runs scored, four doubles and two home runs.

Wells captures his first career Pitcher of the Week award after tossing a complete game shutout in Fort Wayne's 8-0 win over North Dakota State on Saturday. The senior right hander recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in his nine innings of work. He allowed just five hits with only three walks. Wells records the league's first nine-inning complete game shutout since last season and is the first for the Mastodons since 2012.
