TUCSON, Ariz. (oruathletics.com) -- Oral Roberts senior pitcher Miguel Ausua was named to the 2018 Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season All-American team as announced by the newspaper Monday.
Ausua, a second-team All-American at the end of the 2017 campaign by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, finished his junior season with an 11-3 record. His 11 wins ranked third in all of NCAA Division I baseball as the Peñuelas, Puerto Rico, native was honored as The Summit League Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-Summit League selection.
The lefty posted a conference-best, 1.65 earned run average, which was seventh in the nation, and was picked as the Summit League Championship MVP. He allowed only one earned run over his final 38 innings of work, including a stretch of 36.2 scoreless frames, through the NCAA Fayetteville Regional.
