NDSU's McLean lands again on Google Cloud Academic All-District® 6 Baseball Team

For the second-straight year, North Dakota State University outfielder Jayse McLean was voted to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® 6 Division I Baseball Team and selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. McLean also earned Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team honors last season.

McLean joins former Bison Tim Colwell (2012, 2013, 2014), Zach Wentz (2010, 2011, 2012) and Kole Zimmerman (2007, 2008) as multi-time selections to the team. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.

A redshirt senior from Great Falls, Mont., McLean maintained a perfect 4.00 grade-point average while majoring in mechanical engineering and currently has a 4.0 GPA in graduate school.

McLean has started 20 games this season and has two doubles, a triple and two home runs, while driving in 12 runs. 

District 6 is comprised of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. 

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director.
