TULSA, Okla. -- Trey Wolf became the second straight Golden Eagle freshman to toss a shutout, leading Oral Roberts into a winner take all game for the 2019 Summit League Baseball Championship.

After a scoreless top half of the first inning, the Golden Eagles staked their rookie to a 3-0 lead, manufacturing those runs before getting their first hit of the game. ORU took advantage of a rare error by the nation's top fielding team to score a run, then added one more on an RBI groundout by catcher Riley Keizor and the third one on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Pace.

ORU got an RBI single from a different player in the third, fourth and fifth innings to push the advantage to 6-0.

Wolf got through the first four innings, allowing just a single but had to work his way through a big jam in the fifth. The Mavericks loaded the bases with one out but the freshman right-hander was able to induce shallow fly outs for the final two outs and remain unscathed.

Neither team crossed home plate after the fifth as Wolf allowed just a leadoff single to Breyden Eckhout in the final four innings. Wolf had pitched mostly out of relief during the regular season, logging a team-high 22 appearances with only one of those coming as a starter before going to the distance to pick up his first collegiate victory.
