A native of Firth, Neb., Kinney capped off his Maverick career with a Summit League Regular-Season and Tournament Championship, along with a berth to the program's first NCAA Division I Regional.

As The Summit League Pitcher of the Year and Championship MVP, Kinney finished his senior campaign with a 1.96 ERA, an 11-2 record and 111 strikeouts through 115.0 innings. He also garnered All-Summit First Team, Academic All-Summit, Summit League All-Tournament and Summit League Pitcher of the Week honors (three times) this year.
