NDSU Golfers Named Capital One Academic All-Americans
Capital One Academic All-America® At-Large Teams Release
ELMHURST, Ill. -- (gobison.com) North Dakota State placed a pair of golfers on the Capital One Academic All-America® At-Large Teams it was announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.
Junior Amy Anderson was named to the women's first team, while junior Nathan Anderson earned second team honors on the men's side.
Amy was a first team pick with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average in accounting with a minor in fraud investigation after being named to the second team in 2011. She led The Summit League for the third straight year with a 73.0 average, won her second league title, and advanced to her third straight NCAA regional.
Nathan made the second team with a 4.00 cumulative GPA in accounting and a minor in fraud investigation. He led the Bison with a 75.5 average, had three top-10 finishes including his first collegiate victory, and tied for 14th place at the Summit League championship.
To be eligible for Capital One Academic All-America® honors, student-athletes must have a 3.30 or better cumulative GPA on a 4-point scale, sophomore athletic standing, and be a starter or key reserve for their team.
At-large eligible sports are women's bowling, women's crew, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, men's volleyball, water polo, and men's wrestling.
