ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Paige Bird went undefeated at the Women's Mid-American Match Play Challenge Monday and Tuesday to secure her first career Summit League Golfer of the Week accolade.
Bird bested her opponents from Western Michigan, Central Michigan and Dayton to become one of only 11 golfers at the match play challenge to boast an undefeated record. Additionally, the junior from Carbondale, Ill., won 19 of the 47 holes she played, while her opponents combined for only eight hole victories.
