NDSU’s Holmgren, DU’s Weinstein Named Golfers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State's Van Holmgren managed back-to-back sub-par rounds during first and second round action at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor last weekend to earn the men's Golfer of the Week honor, while Denver's Mary Weinstein received the title on the women's side for her performance at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Feb. 18-20.

Holmgren (68-69-77—214) led the Bison to a fourth-place team finish as he earned a tie for seventh individual. Weinstein (78-76-77—231) tied for 50th on the individual leaderboard as the Pioneers finished 16th as a team.

  • Tied for seventh with a three-round score of 2-under 214, setting a new 54-hole career best
  • Fourth Top-10 finish in 2017-18 (in five tournaments played)
  • Posted career-low 18-hole score during second-round action (4-under 68)
  • This season, ranks second on his team and fourth in the league with a 72.93 scoring average
  • First career Summit League Golfer of the Week honor

  • Ranks second on her team and in the league this season with a 73.50 scoring average
  • First career Summit League Golfer of the Week honor
