SDSU’s Wolters Named Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State senior guard Nate Wolters was named Summit League Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance Dec. 17-23.

Wolters earned his 11th career award and third of the season after leading South Dakota State to its first victory over a Division I nationally-ranked opponent in history. He scored a game-high 28 points, dished out a game-high seven assists and added five rebounds in a 70-65 road victory over previously undefeated and No. 16 ranked New Mexico. Wolters made nine-of-15 shots (60 percent) and converted 9-of-11 (82 percent) from the free throw line. Earlier in the week, Wolters scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds and had three assists in SDSU's loss at Belmont, which entered the game ranked No. 10 in the Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
