SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –  Two of the league's top-scoring guards claimed a share of the latest #SummitMBB Player of the Week award announced by league officials Monday. Omaha's Zach Jackson and South Dakota State's David Jenkins rank among the top five scorers in the league and their respective scoring prowess was on display in multiple performances last week.

Jackson averaged 22.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg en route to helping Omaha to a 2-0 week as the Mavs defeated league-leading South Dakota State and third-place occupying Purdue Fort Wayne at Baxter Arena.

In the 85-84 victory over SDSU that saw classmate Mitch Hahn bury the game-winner with 0.2 seconds remaining, Jackson finished with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. The win, which featured a 16-point, second-half rally, pulled the Mavs within a half-game of the Jacks in the league standings.

Jackson made sure that gap remained the same after Saturday's clash with the Mastodons as he registered his first double-double of the season with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Jackson went 10-for-18 from the floor and erupted for 24 points and six rebounds in the second half as Omaha erased a six-point deficit at the break to post a 74-71 victory.

After Jenkins and company were on the wrong end of those late-game heroics Thursday in Omaha, the sophomore provided the Jacks' with their own buzzer-beating dramatics Saturday at North Dakota State. Jenkins buried a half-court, game-winner as time expired to keep the Jacks in first place, capping a 24-point effort by the sophomore guard. He also added a career-high six assists against the Bison.

Jenkins' heroics followed a 34-point outing against the Mavericks that saw him tie a SDSU single-game record with 10 made 3-pointers. He went 10-for-15 from beyond the arc to post his fourth 30-plus point game of the season.

Jenkins finished the week averaging 29.0 ppg and a 15-for-25 effort from 3-point range.
