SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota guard Marlon Stewart claimed the first #SummitMBB Player of the Week award of his career, league officials announced Monday. In two victories last week, the senior scored a season-high 23 points in leading the Fighting Hawks to a 75-74 win over the Big Ten's Nebraska and added 14 points and 11 assists in a win over Northland College.

Stewart went 9-for-15 from the field against the Huskers and scored 14 second-half points to help stave off a late rally by Nebraska this past Saturday. He also added six rebounds and four assists in the victory, which was the first for UND over a Power 5 program since joining the Division I ranks prior to the 2008-09 season.

Earlier in the week, Stewart made a season-high four triples and dished out a career-high 11 assists in a 59-point rout of Northland College. He did his damage in only 22 minutes, registering his second career double-double after finishing with 14 points. The 11 assists were also the most by a Summit League player in a game this season.

Stewart finished the week shooting 67 percent from the floor, 50 percent from beyond the arc and averaging 18.5 ppg, 7.5 apg and 6.0 rpg.
