SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A busy week is in store for The Summit League's men's soccer programs with every team in action over the course of the next seven days. The first matches of the week kick off on Wednesday and continue through Sept. 18.


Around The League

• Denver remained in the top 5 of both national polls. The Pioneers were ranked fifth in the United Soccer Coaches poll and fourth in the Top Drawer Soccer poll

• Omaha has a tough match this week. The Mavericks are heading West to take on No. 11/13 UCLA. This will be the Mavs first road match of the season

• The Summit League members are 1-1-1 against nationally ranked opponents the season. Both Denver and Omaha have the potential to improve that record this week

• Denver forward Andre Shinyashiki leads the NCAA in goals per match (1.60), points per match (3.40), total goals (8) and game winning goals (4)

• Purdue Fort Wayne continues to find success on the offensive end. The Mastodons are ranked No. 2 in the country in scoring offense (3.80), No. 4 in points per match (8.80) and No. 3 in total goals (16)

• Omaha earned its first win of the season on Sept. 7 with a 2-0 victory over Utah Valley

• Omaha leads The Summit League in home attendance (2,628)

• Purdue Fort Wayne has had seven different student-athletes record at least one goal this season

• The Western Illinois goalkeepers have totaled 18 saves this season

• Eastern Illinois' match against IUPUI, originally scheduled to be a home match, has been moved to IUPUI due to field conditions

• Denver swept the men's soccer weekly awards after going 2-0-1 last week. This was the second time in Shinyashiki and Scott DeVoss' career that the duo has earned the offensive and defensive player of the week awards in the same week. They also did it on Oct. 23, 2017
