SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A strong non-conference slate with numerous victories over top-ranked teams, has propelled The Summit League to a top 5 conference RPI ranking. As the midway point of the season draws near, get caught up on all the league's accomplishments to date.

 

Around The League

• The Summit League has the fifth-best RPI in the country out of 24 conferences

• Summit League members have allowed the fourth fewest goals against this season (62)

• Summit League members have recorded 16 shutouts

• Denver won the first Summit League match of the season, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Omaha on the road 4-3 last Saturday

• Andre Shinyashiki, this week's offensive player of the week, scored all four goals in the Pioneer win over Omaha, including three in under four minutes

• Purdue Fort Wayne freshman goalkeeper Tor Erik Larsen earned his first career shutout en route to his first defensive player of the week honor

• On Saturday, all six conference members will be in action for the first time this season. Eastern Illinois will host Denver, Western Illinois will host Oral Roberts and Purdue Fort Wayne will host Omaha

• Shinyashiki is having a special season, leading the nation in multiple offensive categories: total goals (19), total points (40), game-winning goals (7), goals per game (2.11), points per game (4.44), shots per game (5.78) and shots on goal per game (4.00)

• 10 goals separate Shinyashiki from the second leading scorer in the country, while 18 total points separate him from the second highest point getter

• Purdue Fort Wayne has played the fourth toughest schedule in the nation. The Mastodons are followed closely by Omaha, who has played the eighth toughest schedule

• Denver and Purdue Fort Wayne ranks third and fourth, respectively, in the country in goals scored
