SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Each Summit League member has at least three conference matches remaining, and with just two points separating teams from being in or out of The Summit League Championship, every match has a little added pressure to it.


Around The League

• Purdue Fort Wayne jumped from sixth to fourth in the league standings and has won two straight matches

• Omaha and Eastern Illinois switched places in the standings after Omaha picked up three points with a win over Western Illinois

• Denver sits atop The Summit League Standings with seven points. The Pioneers still have to play Western Illinois and Oral Roberts

• The top four teams in the standings will earn a spot in The Summit League Championship. Each team has two conference matches left and only three points separates sixth-place Western Illinois from third-place Eastern Illinois

• Five league members will be in action on Saturday before a busy Tuesday that has all six members going out of conference

• Denver senior forward Andre Shinyashiki was ranked No. 1 in the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Top 100 rankings

• Shinyashiki was one of 10 seniors named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award. He is the first finalist from The Summit League since 2011 and the fourth finalist overall

• Purdue Fort Wayne is ranked fourth in the country with5.64 saves per game

• Oral Roberts has a perfect shooting percentage in penalty kicks

• Denver, Purdue Fort Wayne and Oral Roberts all rank in the top 100 for total assists. These three teams also rank in the top 40 in total goals scored

• Purdue Fort Wayne leads the league in goals scored with 30

• Shinyashiki leads the country in total goals (21), total points (44), goals per game (1.62), points per game (3.38), shots per game (5.23), shots on goal per game (3.38) and game-winning goal (8)

• The Mastodons Tor Erik Larsen has made 75 saves this season, the second-best mark in the country
