SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the first time since the final week of the 2016 season, Western Illinois swept The Summit League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards. Forward Ryan DeBois claimed his first offensive accolade while goalkeeper Tim Trilk earned the third defensive honor of his career after WIU posted a pair of shutouts last week.

DeBois has been a scoring machine lately for the Leathernecks as he tallied a goal in both victories to push his team-leading total to five on the season. He provided the game-winning goal in the 13th-minute of a 2-0 blanking of Detroit Mercy, then added an insurance goal in a 2-0 league victory over Purdue Fort Wayne in the 78th-minute. The junior from Maple Grove, Minn., has now scored a goal in four straight and five of the last six Leatherneck matches.

Trilk was between the pipes for the first two shutouts of the season for the Leathernecks, who have won three straight after opening the season with 11-straight losses. Trilk made a trio of saves in the non-conference match vs. the Titans, then added a pair of saves vs. Purdue Fort Wayne before leaving that match midway through the second half. The senior from Rockford, Ill., ranks second in the league with 66 saves this season.
