SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – All four seeds for the 2019 #SummitMSOC Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare were decided Saturday as the regular season came to an exciting close. And, a year ago the top two seeds in the field, Western Illinois and No. 20/24 Oral Roberts, were on the outside looking in after not qualifying.

This time around both the Fighting Leathernecks and Golden Eagles will be in Denver and those two teams faced off Saturday to decide the top seed. In a tight match all the way, Western Illinois survived a thrilling finish to take a 2-1 victory and earn a share of the regular-season title with the Golden Eagles as both squads finished 4-1 in league play. All three goals were scored in the closing eight minutes of the decisive match.

The victory makes WIU (5-12-1; 4-1) the No. 1 seed for the first time since 2011 and the regular-season title is the Leathernecks' first since the four teams in the 2019 field shared a four-way title in 2014.

ORU (13-3; 4-1-0) was last part of the tournament field in 2015 and is the first team since the Leathernecks in 1999 to finish at the bottom of the standings the previous year and move all the way to top a year later. The Golden Eagles will be the No. 2 seed and will be looking for their first tournament title since 1999.

Denver (4-11-3; 2-2-1) will be the No. 3 seed after clinching the final spot in the field Saturday thanks to a 3-1 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne. The Pioneers have qualified for all seven Summit League Championships since joining the league in 2013, but this marks the first year DU did not win at least a share of the regular-season title.

Omaha (3-8-4; 2-2-1) will be the No. 4 seed after earning a bid to the postseason event for the fifth time in five tries since becoming eligible for Division I postseason play in 2014. The Mavericks have made the title match each of the last three seasons.

The 2019 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship will be played Thursday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Denver Soccer Stadium in Denver, Colo. All games will be streamed free of charge on thesummitleague.org.

Thursday's first match pits Western Illinois against Omaha at 1 p.m. MT while the second semifinal pits Oral Roberts and host Denver at 4 p.m. MT.

The winners of Thursday's matches will play in Saturday's championship match at 2 p.m. MT with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA College Cup.
