2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament Bracket

INDIANAPOLIS –
The Denver men's soccer program will play its 14th match away from home on Thursday when the Pioneers head to Missouri State for the 2019 NCAA First Round. Thursday's kickoff time is set for 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT.

"We've said all year that early-season adversity would help prepare us for knockout football," head coach Jamie Franks said. "Playing as many top-15 teams as we did on the road, our guys feel confident heading into this moment. We're going to focus on what we can control. We're really excited to be playing in the NCAA Tournament."

Denver (6-11-3)  is 0-1-1 in its Division I history against Missouri State (17-0-1), who was ranked No. 9 in the latest United Soccer Coaches' Top 25 poll. The winner of Thursday's match will head to No. 9 overall seed UCF on Sunday (6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. MT).  DU earned the league's automatic bid after the third-seeded Pioneers posted a pair of shutouts during last week's 2019 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare.

The full field of 48 was announced during the NCAA Selection Show Monday.

The Crimson and Gold are 4-7-1 all-time in NCAA Tournament play entering their ninth appearance in the competition later this week. Denver earned its first Division I NCAA Tournament win in 2016 since returning to the NCAAs top division in 1998, making a run all the way to the program's first College Cup. The sixth-seeded Pioneers that season earned home wins over UNLV and No. 11 Washington before going on the road to win late in regulation at No. 3 Clemson.

DU also made tournament appearances in 1970 (Quarterfinals), 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018 (Second Round).
