Dynamic duo secure athlete of the week accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Drake men's tennis athlete Tom Hands and Denver women's tennis athlete Bianca Mok claimed this week's Summit League Athlete of The Week honors after overcoming nationally-ranked opponents. This is the second straight week that Hands has received the honor and the second time this season for Mok.

Senior | Fulbourn, England

  • Started the week ranked No. 64 and went 3-0 in singles action and 3-1 in doubles
  • Opened the weekend with a win over Oregon's No. 78 ranked individual
  • Defeated opponents from North Dakota and Nebraska in straight sets at the No. 2 spot

Also nominated: Ignatius Castelino (Denver), Chad Kissell (Valparaiso), Abdoul Outtara (Omaha) 

Bianca Mok, Denver
Senior | Boise, Idaho

  • Ranked No. 91 headed into the weekend and now holds a 6-1 mark in singles play and a 7-1 mark in doubles
  • Secured one of Denver's three singles points to defeat Georgia State
  • Completed a come-from-behind upset to defeat No. 29 Valeriya Zeleva of Central Florida at the top spot of the lineup
