SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Drake men's tennis athlete Vinny Gillespie and Omaha women's tennis athlete Janelle Wilson secured Summit League athlete of the week honors after successful weekends on the court. This is Gillespie's second weekly award of the season, while Wilson garnered her first.

Senior | Stirling, Scotland

  • Compiled an overall record of 11-4 in singles and 8-5 in doubles
  • Came from behind to defeat No. 38 Josip Krstanovic of Minnesota
  • Went 3-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles on the weekend against competitors from No. 17 Minnesota and No. 44 Wichita State

Senior | Godfrey, Ill.

  • Finished the weekend 1-1 at the top spot of the lineup in singles and 2-0 in doubles at the No. 2 spot
  • Improved her overall doubles record to 7-2 on the season
