The Summit League Announces the First Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The first week of the swimming and diving season is in the books and The Summit League had some standout performances. South Dakota junior Sabrina Sabadeanu was named the female swimmer of the week, Omaha senior Annika Clinton was named the female diver of the week and Eastern Illinois sophomore Scott House was named the male swimmer of the week.


Female Swimmer of the Week

Sabrina Sabadeanu, South Dakota

Jr. | Commerce City, Colo.

• Won three different individual events and was the lead leg of the 200-meter medley relay that captured first in a dual against Minnesota State

• Posted some impressive times in the 100-meter backstroke (1:06.29), 200-meter backstroke (2:20.60), 200-meter IM (2:24.89) and as the first leg of the 200 medley (30.74)

• The Coyote junior set new South Dakota school records in the 200-meter IM, 200-meter backstroke and the 200-meter medley relay

• Third career swimmer of the week honor

Female Diver of the Week

Annika Clinton, Omaha

Sr. | Minnetonka, Minn.

• Qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships with a score of 272.40 in the 1-meter dive

• Placed first in the 1-meter dive

• In the 3-meter dive, earned a score of 226.73 to finish second in the event

• First career swimmer of the week honor

Male Swimmer of the Week

Scott House, Eastern Illinois

So. | Elizabethtown, Ky.

• Won the 100-yard free with a time of 47.36

• Finished second in the 400-yard free with a time of 3:12.07

• Competed against Butler, Evansville, Xavier and Saint Louis

• First career swimmer of the week honor
