South Dakota, Denver Earn Seasons First Weekly #SummitSD Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The first week of the swimming and diving season is in the books and The Summit League had some standout performances. South Dakota senior Sabrina Sabadeanu was named the female swimmer of the week, junior Haley Pederson of South Dakota was named the female diver of the week and Denver junior Cameron Auchinachie was named the male swimmer of the week.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Sabrina Sabadeanu, South Dakota
Sr. | Commerce City, Colo.

• Won three different individual events as they finished second in a dual meet against Minnesota State

• Captured individual race wins in the 100 back (58.86), 200 back (2:06.89) and the 200 IM (2:10.70)

• Also placed second in the 200 medley (1:47.89), participating in the first leg with a 27.65 split time

• Sixth career swimmer of the week honor

Female Diver of the Week
Haley Pederson, South Dakota
Jr. | West Fargo, N.D.

• Placed first in the 1-meter dive, earning a score of 249.55

• Also placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 254.4

• Second career diver of the week honor

Male Swimmer of the Week
Cameron Auchinachie, Denver
Jr. | Binghampton, N.Y.

• Won six events at the Denver Relays as the Pioneers finished first out of four teams

• Captured relay race wins in the 200 medley relay (1:30.00), 3x100 back relay (2:28.60. 4x25 free relay (37.19), 500 crescendo relay (3:58.75), 4x25 medley relay (40.56) and the 400 free relay (3:01.29)

• Auchinachie's 100 free time is currently ranked fifth in the country (leadoff leg to the 400 free relay) after his 44.37 time

• Second career swimmer of the week honor
