NDSU Sweeps Athletes of the Week Once Again

ELMHURST, Ill. – A pair of multi competitors from North Dakota State were named The Summit League Outdoor Athletes of the Week Tuesday, as sophomore heptathlete Macy Denzer and senior decathlete Matt Neururer earned the weekly honor for their performances at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic, March 22-23.

Macy Denzer, NORTH DAKOTA STATE

  • Competed at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic, March 22-23
  • Recorded a third-place score in the heptathlon with 4,686 points
  • Ranks first on league's 2018 performance list in the heptathlon
  • Moved to No. 6 in the NCAA West Region and No. 8 in the entire NCAA
  • Recorded a personal-best in the women's javelin at UC Riverside (136' 0"  41.45m)         
  • First-career Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honor

  • Tallied 6,753 points in the decathlon—good enough for a third-place finish
  • The Summit League leader in the decathlon this outdoor season
  • Also ranks fifth in the NCAA West Region and sixth in the entire NCAA outdoors
  • Moved to second on the league's 2018 performance list in the men's high jump (6' 1.25"  1.86m)
  • First-career Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honor
