SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –North Dakota State opened its indoor track and field season this past weekend with outstanding performances that saw two senior athletes earn weekly honors. Kelle'Mon Hinton claimed the men's athlete of the week award, while Bailey Retzlaff took home the accolade on the women's side.

Kelle'Mon Hinton, North Dakota State
Senior | Jumps

  • Won both the long jump (23-09.5) and the triple jump (49-02.25) at the Dakota Classic
  • Currently places 19th in the nation in the long jump
  • Ranks 20th in the nation for the triple jump
  • His long jump ranked 10th all-time at NDSU in the event

Previous winners: Zack Anderson (South Dakota)

Bailey Retzlaff, North Dakota State
Senior | Throws

  • Currently ranks No. 1 in the NCAA this season in the shot put and No. 10 in the weight throw
  • Threw an NDSU record 55-07.00 to win the shot put at the Dakota Classic, breaking the previous mark by 17 inches
  • Previous indoor best in the shot put was 51-09.25
  • Moved up to No. 3 in school history in the weight throw with a personal-best 66.01.50 to add three feet to her previous best
