SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Outstanding performances in the field earn three individuals athlete of the week honors. North Dakota State senior Payton Otterdahl and South Dakota junior Chris Nilsen both earned a share of the men's athlete of the week accolade, while North Dakota senior Molli Detloff claimed her second women's weekly award. 

Payton Otterdahl, North Dakota State
Senior | Throws

  • Claimed the shot put title with a throw of 68-07.00 at the Bison Team Cup
  • Continues to rank No. 1 in the nation in both the shot put and weight throw
  • Leads the NCAA by two feet in the shot put
  • Received his second-consecutive athlete of the week award

Chris Nilsen, South Dakota
Junior | Pole Vault

  • Won the pole vault (18-6.75) at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational
  • Sits atop the NCAA standings with that jump
  • Leads the NCAA by three inches and the league by two feet
  • Garnered his first athlete of the week honor this season

Molli Detloff, North Dakota
Senior | Throws

  • Set a new UND record with her 70-7 toss in the weight throw at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational
  • Her current mark has her ranked seventh in the nation in the event
  • Broke her previous school-record mark of 68-3.75 by more than two feet
  • Claimed her second athlete of the week accolade of the season
