#SummitWBB Wednesday Sweep Highlighted by SDSU Win over Oklahoma

Summit League women's basketball teams went 3-0 in Wednesday night action, highlighted by South Dakota State's win over Big 12 foe Oklahoma.

In other contests, Omaha handled UNI, while Oral Roberts outlasted Kansas City in overtime.


South Dakota State 67, Oklahoma 61
BROOKINGS, S.D. (gojacks.com) -- The South Dakota State women's basketball team made its last six free throws as the Jackrabbits held off Oklahoma 67-61 Wednesday night in front of 2,068 fans at Frost Arena. State, which made 12 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter, finished the game with a season-high 20 made free throws.
 
The 7-2 Jackrabbits were led in scoring by junior Macy Miller with 17 points. Classmate Madison Guebert added 16 points while freshman Myah Selland contributed 12 points and a game- and career-high nine rebounds.

Omaha 78, UNI 74
OMAHA, Neb. -- Behind a career-high 24 points from junior guard Amber Vidal Omaha held on to defeat Northern Iowa, 78-74, on Wednesday night at Baxter Arena.

With the win, the Mavericks improved to 7-2 on the season (0-0 Summit League), while the Panthers fell to 2-6 overall (0-0 Missouri Valley).  Omaha has won seven-straight games, its longest winning streak since transitioning to Division I.

Oral Roberts 76, Kansas City 73 (OT)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (goyotes.com) -- Maria Martianez recorded her second double-double of the season as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team continued its winning streak with a 76-73 win over UMKC Wednesday evening at the Swinney Recreation Center.

The Golden Eagles got off to a slow start Wednesday evening and fell behind 12-9 late in the quarter. Faith Ihim had six of the team's nine points. Keni Jo Lippe tied the game with just over two minutes go with a 3-point bucket. ORU took its first lead of the game with less than two minutes when Maria Martianez scored her first bucket of the game. The Golden Eagles took a 17-14 lead to close out quarter number one after Rachel Skalnik scored the game leading 3-point shot. ORU closed out on a 7-0 run. The Golden Eagles shot 47 percent from the field and 30 percent from the 3-point line in the first 10 minutes
