SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League will once again hold a Fan Fest during the first two days of its 2018 Basketball Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D. The fan event runs 10 a.m.-9 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday (March 3-4) at the Sioux Falls Arena. Admission is free of charge and attendees do not need a game ticket for admission.
As the league celebrates a #DecadeAtTheFalls, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the Men's and Women's Summit At The Falls All-Decade Teams and enter a drawing for a chance to win an iPad. Fans can vote onsite using the iPads and enter the drawing once per session (two sessions Saturday, two sessions Sunday).
For the eighth consecutive year, the league will extend the #SummitFoodFight to the Basketball Championships and Fan Fest. This year, fans are invited to donate to the #SummitFoodFight by visiting yougivegoods.com and supporting any of the eight institutions' local food pantries. Those who donate March 3 or 4 and show the receipt at the Fan Fest waiver station will receive an exclusive #SummitFoodFight hat (while supplies last).
Children and adults of all ages can test their skills, pose for photos and be part of team pep rallies throughout each day. Exclusive Summit League Basketball Championships merchandise will also be available for purchase at the Fan Fest.
Fans can compete at basketball-related games, such as Pop-A-Shot, and test their skills at shooting contest stations, including a game where participants see how many three-pointers they can make in 30 seconds. Younger fans (ages five and under) can shoot baskets on hoops their size and enjoy inflatable games in the Kids Zone.
There are several photo opportunities throughout #SummitFanFest that will give fans an up-close look at the true championship experience. Photos with the official Summit League Championship trophy and replicating celebratory net cutting are just some of the ways to look like a champion. Fans may also take photos with their favorite team's jersey and mascot.
Team pep rallies featuring bands, cheer and dance squads, are scheduled throughout Fan Fest. Each competing team will have its band, cheer and dance teams, and mascot make an appearance prior to their game. Mascots will be available for photos for a limited time during the pep rallies.
