FLOSSMOOR, Ill. –
South Dakota women's golf placed four individuals inside the top-10 and clinched the team victory by 28 strokes at the Loyola Fall Invitational at Flossmoor Country Club on Sept. 18. The victory is the first team win since 2014 when the Coyotes captured the Creighton Classic. The Coyotes are the second Summit League women's golf team to win a team title this season joining South Dakota State, who won the Omaha Invitational during the opening weekend of the fall season.
 
South Dakota shot its best round of the tournament Tuesday, tallying 303 strokes. For the tournament, the Coyotes totaled 912 strokes (+48), topping Drake and Loyola who each tallied 940 shots.
 
Freshman Megan Munneke led USD with 223 strokes (+7). She shot a 75 (+3) in the final round and placed second overall. Senior Lexi Petersen earned a third-place finish with 226 strokes (+10) after scoring a 75 (+3) in the final tour of the course. Petersen tallied eight birdies in the event, the most of the 72-player field. Munneke totaled seven birdies throughout the event and marked the second-most pars at 35.
 
Senior Jennifer Vincent moved up three positions on the leaderboard on the final day and earned a seventh-place finish with a 75 (+3). She totaled 232 strokes (+16) over the three rounds including back-to-back 75s in rounds two and three. Freshman Laerke Jensen placed 10th overall with 236 strokes  (+20). 

In other Summit League women's golf highlights from last weekend, sophomore Holly Anderson tied Purdue Fort Wayne's single-round record with a 71 (-1) and helped the Mastodons set a 54-hole scoring record with a 940 finish. Anderson also tied the individual 54-hole scoring mark after finishing with a 227 total.
