South Dakota, South Dakota State Earn #SummitWSOC Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota forward Taryn LaBree and South Dakota State forward Leah Manuleleua both earn The Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the week award, while South Dakota goalkeeper Coral Suarez was awarded the Defensive Player of the Week accolade. LaBree netted the first goal of the South Dakota season in dramatic, overtime fashion against Creighton, while Manuleleua also scored a golden goal over the Bluejays three days later. Suarez earned the first two clean sheets of her career in a pair of 1-0 wins over the weekend.

OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

TARYN LABREE, SOUTH DAKOTA

  • Earned her first career Player of the Week accolade
  • Scored the golden goal against Creighton in the 92nd minute
  • Goal against Creighton was first goal of the season for the Coyotes
  • Had a game-high six shots (four shots on goal) in a 1-0 win over North Dakota

LEAH MANULELEUA, SOUTH DAKOTA STATE

  • Earned her first career Player of the Week accolade
  • Netted the golden goal in the 93rd minute against Creighton
  • Leads team with four points, has two goals on the season
  • Fired two shots in scoreless draw against Iowa State

  • Secured the first two shutouts of her career with wins over Creighton and North Dakota
  • Leads the league in saves (34), with five coming against Creighton and four from North Dakota
  • In the past week, lowered her GAA from 2.00 to 1.27, good for second in the league
