Western Illinois Sweeps #SummitWSOC Player of the Week Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Western Illinois women's soccer team swept the #SummitWSOC weekly awards as sophomore defender Zoe Clarke claimed the offensive accolade and senior goalkeeper Ines Palmiero earned defensive honors.

Clarke provided the game-winning goal in the 55th-minute in the Leathernecks' 2-0 win against Purdue Fort Wayne. Additionally, Clarke tallied an assist to Lauryn Peters in the 58th-minute of the contest. For the week, Clarke put up six shots on goal.

Palmiero collected her first weekly honor of the season and second overall as she brought in three-straight clean sheets last week. The senior made three saves against Chicago State and opened league action with five saves against both Omaha and Purdue Fort Wayne.
