ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State's Ffion Davies was named as The Summit League's women's tennis player of the week for her performance through Jan. 28. The award marks the first weekly honor of the season.

Davies earns her first career award after beginning the season with matching 2-0 records in singles and doubles play. In her collegiate dual debut, Davies notched a straight-set (3 and 4) victory over St. Louis' Madison Cook at the No. 4 position. The next day, she moved into the No. 3 position and posted a straight-set win over SIUE's Haley Ilcewicz (4 and 2). In doubles play, Davies teamed with Jenny Blackburne at No. 1 for victories over the tandems from SLU (8-2) and SIUE (8-6).
