NDSU's Rasmusson, USD's Jessen Earn CoSIDA Recognition

ELMHURST, Ill. – The 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball teams were released Thursday with North Dakota State's Brianna Rasmusson and South Dakota's Brittany Jessen representing The Summit League on the District 6 squad.

It was the first such CoSIDA Academic All-District honor for Rasmusson and Jessen, both of whom are in Denver this weekend to compete at the Summit League Volleyball Championship.

Rasmusson has started all 26 matches and 93 sets this season. She is averaging 9.77 assists and 3.27 digs per set, and has 62 blocks and a team-high 32 service aces. Rasmusson became the seventh NDSU to record over 3,000 assists and 1,000 digs in a career. **

Jessen, named Summit League Setter of the Year for the third consecutive season Thursday, is a four-time all-Summit League honoree. Jessen leads the Summit and ranks 85th nationally in assists per set (10.23). She recently became the program's all-time assists leader, and her 4,725 career assists are fifth-most amongst active Division I players. Jessen also leads the Coyotes with 27 aces and has 102 kills and 237 digs. **
