SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Summit League volleyball teams are back this weekend with a competitive schedule ahead. The docket includes matches against a couple of Power Five opponents, a three-time NCAA tournament qualifier and a top three nationally-ranked squad. 

Around The League
• In Purdue Fort Wayne's victory over Liberty, the Mastodon's took the first set with a final score of 43-41. The 43 points are the most by any Purdue Fort Wayne team and are tied for fifth most all-time during the NCAA's Division I 25-point scoring era. The Mastodons were three points off the NCAA record set back in 2017.
• The Mastodons will be taking their first preseason tournament road trip to Kent, Ohio,  for the Golden Flashes Classic. Purdue Fort Wayne will see competition against Morgan State., Kent State (Friday) and Niagara (Saturday).
• South Dakota hosts its first nonconference tournament inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center with the Coyotes slated to match up against Pac-12 member Cal on Friday night. Northeastern and Northern Colorado are also on the docket for South Dakota.  
• The Summit League has yet another nationally-ranked opponent on the schedule. North Dakota State heads to the land of 10,000 lakes and will meet up with No. 3 Minnesota. A first time meeting with SEC member Arkansas is scheduled for Saturday with a match against Georgia Southern to follow. NDSU will make its first appearance of the season in the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse Sunday in a match against Western Carolina.
• Denver begins its three-week homestand with the Denver Classic set to begin Friday. The Pioneers, who went 2-1 opening weekend, start with UC Santa Barbara, who also finished the weekend 2-1. Day No. 2 for the Pioneers includes matches against McNeese State and Sacramento State. 
• Omaha takes the home court advantage this weekend at its Omaha Classic. The Mavericks look to capture their first victory of the 2018 season starting with the first match of the weekend against Kansas City. Later Friday, Omaha will face UIC before facing UTEP on Saturday.
• South Dakota State stays in the friendly confines of Frost Arena as it hosts to the Jackrabbits Invitational. The slate for the Jackrabbits consists of Seattle University (Friday), Weber State and Green Bay (Saturday). This will be the second matchup between a Summit League member and Green Bay. North Dakota faced Green Bay opening weekend and finished with its first victory as a Summit League team. 
• North Dakota plays at home for the first time at its annual UND Classic which begins Thursday against Eastern Washington. On Friday, the Fighting Hawks will match up against Western Carolina and Louisiana Tech. 
• Oral Roberts hits the road for the second-consecutive weekend. The Golden Eagles are set to start the weekend against 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Champion Missouri State Friday. Missouri State went undefeated in conference play last year and went to its third-consecutive NCAA Tournament. Oral Roberts is scheduled to play Ball State and Grambling Saturday.
• Western Illinois stays within state lines and heads to Peoria, Ill., for Bradley University's CEFCU Invitational. The Leathernecks see the host on Friday night and continue the action with George Washington and Toledo on Saturday.
