SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha's Sydney Case and South Dakota's Anne Rasmussen have been named The Summit League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week after successful weekends to start of league play.
With a total of 113 assists and a 12.56 assists per set average, Case helped guide Omaha to victories over South Dakota State and North Dakota State for a perfect start to Summit League action. She recorded 48 total assists in the road win at SDSU and 65 assists in the road win at NDSU.
Rasmussen paced the defense for South Dakota and helped the Coyotes open league play with a 2-0 record. The Coyotes started the weekend with a thrilling five-set road victory over North Dakota State Friday and finished the weekend with a 3-1 road win over Oral Roberts Sunday. Rasmussen tallied 34 and 30 digs, respectively, for a 7.11 digs per set average to finish the opening weekend of league play.
