SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –The Summit League volleyball regular season comes to an end Sunday with spots at the championship still up for grabs. Denver, South Dakota and Omaha have all secured a spot. The action continues Friday with the first serve at 5 p.m. to see who else will be making the trip out to Denver, Colo., for the 2018 Summit League Volleyball Championship Nov. 16-18.

 Around The League

  • With a win over Oral Roberts last Friday, Denver clinched its fifth-consecutive Summit League regular season title with a 24-1 record and a 13-0 mark in the league. The Pioneers go into the final week of the regular season having received 11 votes in the AVCA DI Coaches Poll.
  • DU is on a 22-match win streak for the first time in program history and looks to continue the streak on the road this week at Western Illinois (Friday) and Purdue Fort Wayne (Sunday).
  • South Dakota moved up from ninth in the national rankings in digs per set to sixth with a18.25 set average. Senior Hayley Dotseth also holds a spot in the national rankings, currently sitting second for attacks per set (13.57). Junior Anne Rasmussen ranks 14th in digs per set (5.51).
  • Omaha finished the week 2-1 and rallied back from a two-set deficit to defeat Western Illinois in five sets Tuesday. It was the first time since the semifinal match of The Summit League Championship in 2015 that the Mavericks have won a match after being down two sets.
  • The Mavs will finish up the regular season Sunday in Tulsa, Okla., against Oral Roberts.
  • Purdue Fort Wayne returns home to finish off the regular season with matches against South Dakota State (Friday) and Denver (Sunday).
  • The Mastodons moved from eighth to seventh in this week's national rankings for team assists (1,391) and team kills (1,487).
  • North Dakota will be on the road for its last match of the regular season against South Dakota. For the Fighting Hawks, freshman Roosa Rautio currently sits fourth in the nation for total assists with 1,188, while, as a team, UND sits sixth in total digs (1,915).
  • Oral Roberts remains at home to finish off the regular season with a pair of crucial matches as the Golden Eagles look to make the Summit League Championships. ORU matches up against North Dakota State (Friday) and Omaha (Sunday).
  • North Dakota State will close out the regular season on the road in hopes of being one of the top six teams to move on to the championship. After meeting ORU Friday, the Bison will make an appearance in Vermillion, S.D., to match up against the Coyotes.
  • South Dakota State has won two of its last three matches, which gives them the most matches won since the 2014 season. The Jackrabbits look to continue their momentum as they finish off the season on the road against Purdue Fort Wayne (Friday) and Western Illinois (Sunday).
  • Western Illinois secured its first league victory of the season by overcoming North Dakota State 3-1 last Friday. The win was the first since sweeping Fairleigh Dickinson at the beginning of the season.
  • The Leathernecks finish off the season welcoming Denver (Friday) and South Dakota State (Sunday).
