USD’s Eichkorn Nabs #SummitXC Weekly Women’s Award

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Amber Eichkorn was named Summit League Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her performance Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

  • Collected fourth career Summit AOW honor and second of the season
  • Won the SDSU Classic with a league-best time of 17:24.72, besting second place by nearly six seconds
  • Time was a personal-best and ranks among top in USD history
  • Led Coyotes to victory in seven-team field that included four Summit League squads

In its fourth decade of Division I athletics, The Summit League offers 19 championship sports and has a combined enrollment of over 120,000 at nine institutions, including four located in top 60 U.S. metro populations and two land-grant universities.
