Cross Country Academic All-League Teams announced

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –A total of ten Summit League cross country student-athletes, five men and five women, have been selected to the 2018 Academic All-League Team as voted on by a panel of Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors from the league's member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the accolade based on their academic and athletic performances this past season. South Dakota State and North Dakota State paved the way with three total selections.

The 2018 Female Championship MVP Emma Rafuse of Purdue Fort Wayne, Rachel King of South Dakota State and North Dakota State's Annika Rotvold all received the honor for the second-straight season. The Bison were also represented by Kelby Anderson while South Dakota's Megan Billington made an appearance on the female team this year.

SDSU, who won the Summit League men's championship was represented by Chase Cayo and Kyle Burdick for the second-straight year, while 2018 Male Championship MVP Eldon Warner from South Dakota also received the honor for the second-consecutive time. NDSU's Elliot Stone has garnered the honor for the third-consecutive season, and Purdue Fort Wayne's Logan Kitchen rounds out the male team.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
