SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A total of ten Summit League cross country student-athletes, five men and five women, have been selected to the 2019 Academic All-League Team as voted on by a panel of Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors from the league's member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the accolade based on their academic and athletic performances this past season. South Dakota paved the way with three total selections.

The 2019 Female Championship MVP of North Dakota State, Kelby Anderson, received the honor for the second-straight season. South Dakota's Abby Ripperda, who was named the Summit League October Women's Athlete of the Month, received academic accolades. Emily Johnson of Omaha was named to the all-academic team as the Elkhorn, Neb., native is a member of the Summit League Academic Honor Roll and the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence. Anna Donnay of South Dakota State and Jonna Bart of South Dakota round out the academic all-league list.

SDSU, who won the Summit League men's championship, was represented by Micah Mather, while NDSU's Alex Bartholomay, who earned second-team honors with a seventh-place finish at the league's championships, earned academic honors. Western Illinois' Quintin Thurman, who earned the Summit League Athlete of the Week on Oct. 28, earned academic honors. Sammy Moran of Purdue Fort Wayne and Cole Streich of South Dakota rounded out the men's team.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
