Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility

North Dakota State University's track & field teams moved into the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility in December 2012. The 78,000-square-foot facility includes a 200-meter, eight-lane track with 42-inch wide lanes and additional practice lanes on one straightaway. There are also multiple long jump, triple jump and pole vault runways, along with a shot put and weight throw sector on the infield.

Fargo is the most populous city in the State of North Dakota, with a population of 118,523 which accounts for over 15 percent of the state population. In 2014, Forbes magazine ranked Fargo as the fourth fastest-growing small city in the United States.
