SUU's Sorensen Named Player of the Week
Tate
Sorensen,
Southern Utah
Sr.,
C, 6-7, Talmage, Utah/College of Eastern Utah (Altamont

Sorensen
earns Player of the Week honors after leading the T-Birds to a road
win over Cal Poly, avenging a home loss earlier in the season. He
scored a career-high 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting (83 percent)
and pulled down 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the
season. He also blocked a shot and had two steals with just one
turnover. Sorensen played 38 minutes, only coming out in the second
half after taking an elbow to the face which opened up a one-inch
gash on his forehead. He made two free throws for the final points
of the game to seal the victory for Southern Utah. The win snapped
a three-game losing streak for the Thunderbirds.
