IUPUI's McGowan, Oakland's Solan Named Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

Tyler McGowan, IUPUI

McGowan claims the Male Athlete of the Week award for the second straight week. The junior from Vincennes, Ind., captured two first-place finishes in a win over Centre College last week. His 1:56.92 time in the 200 fly and 4:49.86 in the 500 free are both league-best times. McGowan was also the Jaguars' top finisher at the Indiana Intercollegiates.

Solan earns Female Athlete of the Week honors after notching three individual first-place finishes in the 100 back (57.93), 200 back (2:06.52) and 200 individual medley (2:09.60) at Toledo. She also earned a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.13. Solan helped the Golden Grizzlies to 122.5 points as a team at Toledo.
