claims the Male Athlete of the Week award for the second time this
season after recording four first-place finishes against Eastern
Illinois. The sophomore
recorded a time of 9:59.66 in the 1,000 free and a mark of 4:53.69
in the 500 free for the individual title. Davis came back and
placed first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:13.74 and helped
WIU to a 400 free relay time of 3:16.52 for a first-place
finish.

Vela
earns Female Athlete of the Week honors as she recorded a pair of
first-place finishes over the weekend. The freshman placed first in the 100
free with a time of 53.64 and helped the 200 medley relay to a
first-place finish with a time of 1:46.81. Vela recorded her personal-best time
of 24.30 for a second-place finish in the 50 free. Her times in the 50 free and 100 free
top The Summit League, as does OU's 400 free relay time of 3:33.68
in which Vela was the lead-off leg.
