ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State's Ben Woodside earned his first Player of the Week award after averaging 45.5 ppg, 9.0 apg and 5.0 rpg during the weekend. His performance also netted him the CollegeHoops.net Mid-Major Player of the Week accolade.

In Friday's triple overtime loss to Stephen F. Austin, Woodside set Summit League, NDSU and venue records for points (60), free throws made (30) and free throws attempted (35). His free throw total tied the NCAA single-game mark held by LSU's Pete Maravich while his free throw attempts were one shy of the national record. His 60-point total was the 25th in NCAA history against a Division I opponent, the first since 2000, and marked the 10th highest for a single-game.

The following night, Woodside tied a career-high with 10 assists and had 31 points for his second career double-double in a victory over Georgia Southern.

Woodside's efforts netted him the Most Outstanding Player Award at the Drake Hy-Vee Classic.
