earns the Men's Athlete of the Week award after breaking the school
record in the weight throw with a distance of 12.80 meters. The junior from Kalamazoo,
Mich., also threw 13.42 meters in the shot put, which ranks second
all-time in Oakland history.

claims the Women's Athlete of the Week award after setting a trio
of school records over the weekend at the Saginaw Valley Holiday
Classic. The freshman
earned a first-place finish
in the long jump with a school record mark of 5.33 meters. Peabody came back to set school
records in the high jump with a mark of 1.48 meters and in the
60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.99.
