NDSU's Chmielewski, Bakke Sweep Softball Awards

Chmielewski
earns Player of the Week honors after leading the Bison to a 4-1
record and being named Most Outstanding Player at the Miken Dome
Tournament. She was 8-of-13 (.615 batting average) with two home
runs, eight RBI and five walks. She also boasted a 1.154 slugging
percentage and a .722 on-base percentage. In the first game against
Green Bay, she was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI. In the two
team's next meeting, after a single in the first inning, the
Phoenix opted against pitching to Chmielewski, resulting in four
walks. On Sunday, when Green Bay threw to her again, she knocked a
solo homer over the left field fence. In the tournament finale, a
3-1 win over Iowa State, she was responsible for all of NDSU's
scoring, hitting a three-run homer in the first inning.

Pitcher of the Week honors after posting a 2-1 record and being
named Most Outstanding Pitcher at the Miken Dome Tournament last
weekend. She posted a 1.05 earned run average and held opponents to
a .214 batting average. In an 8-0 shutout of Green Bay, she threw a
two-hitter and struck out seven batters in 5.0 innings of work. In
her other win, over the Big 12's Iowa State, she surrendered just
one run on five hits while striking out seven.
