IUPUI's Garcia, IPFW's Lish Earn Weekly Honors

MEN

Gabriel Garcia, IUPUI

Garcia earns Athlete of the Week honors after going 3-1 in a pair of dual meets last week. Against Youngstown State, he defeated Scott Kathary at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (5). He then teamed with Gregory Sosa at No. 1 doubles to beat Kathary and Ryan Trapp, 9-8 (7-4). Against Bradley, Garcia came from behind to defeat Milos Romic, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 1 singles. He and Sosa then fell to Romic and Evgeny Samoylov, 4-8, at No. 1 doubles.

WOMEN

Stacy Lish, IPFW

Lish receives Athlete of the Week honors after winning a pair of singles matches and a doubles match in three dual meets last week. At No. 4 singles, she defeated Niagara's Emma Cunnington, 6-3, 7-6. She also shut out Chicago State's Ameena Payne, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles. Lish and Ashley Coulson teamed to beat Niagara's Vanja Lakic and Shella Dargout, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles.
