ORU's Bain, Talbert Named Athletes of the Week

MEN

Andretti Bain, Oral Roberts

Sr., Nassau, Bahamas/St. John's College

Bain earns his second Athlete of the Week award this season after recording two first-place finishes at The Summit League Championships last week. For the first time this season, Bain ran in the 200-meter dash and finished with an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 21.15. He also recorded a regional qualifying time in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 46.90, en route to being named Outdoor Athlete of the Year.

WOMEN

Rachel Talbert, Oral Roberts

Sr., Newton, Kan./Home-schooled

Talbert collects her third Athlete of the Week honor after placing first in two events at The Summit League Championships last week. She broke the championship record in the discus (53.49m) and set an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the javelin (45.00m). Talbert also placed second in the shot put (14.60m) and sixth in the hammer throw (48.29m), collecting 31 points for ORU and being named Outdoor Athlete of the Year.
