ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Keith Benson earned Summit League
Player of the Week honors after averaging 20.3 points, 11.3
rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game in three contests from Nov. 23-29.
The award is the second of Benson's career and first this
season.
Benson totaled 20 points, six boards and four blocks against No.
1 Kansas and All-American center Cole Aldrich on Nov. 25. In
Oakland's win over Central Arkansas, Benson pulled down a
career-high 18 rebounds while scoring 24 points, including
converting 10-of-13 free throw attempts, and blocking seven shots.
In a win over Tennessee Tech, Benson had 17 points, 10 rebounds and
four blocks.
For the week, Benson shot .556 from the field and 81 percent
(21-of-26) from the line while adding a pair of double-doubles to
run his league-leading total to three. His 15 blocked shots moved
him into fifth place on The Summit League's career list with
156.
